About Monthey
Monthey ist eine politische Gemeinde, eine Burgergemeinde und Hauptort des gleichnamigen Bezirks im Kanton Wallis in der Schweiz. Zur Stadt Monthey gehören auch das Dorf Choëx, die Weiler Outrevièze und Les Giettes, zwei Exklaven in der Gemeinde Collombey-Muraz sowie eine im Quellgebiet der Vièze de Morgins. Die Stadt selber liegt am Fluss Vièze, der hier in die Rhone mündet, und gehört zum Schweizer Teil der Landschaft Chablais.
